While in law school at the University of Alberta, Ms. DeKelver was a member of the Gale Cup Moot Team and was awarded the Dickson Medal for distinguished advocacy by the American College of Trial Lawyers. After obtaining her law degree, Ms. DeKelver completed a clerkship to the Alberta Court of Appeal and Court of Queen’s Bench, and then completed her articles with a large Alberta firm where she practiced for two years, primarily in insurance defence litigation.
Ms. DeKelver joined the team at Weir Bowen LLP in September 2005, specifically to practice with the medical malpractice group. She has been involved in investigating and assessing as well as litigating a variety of medical malpractice claims since that time.
In addition to medical malpractice work, her practice includes handling injury claims for minors as well as general civil litigation and employment law matters.
